Contemporary

Sophie is immersed in the contemporary music scene and works together with composers of different nationalities to broaden the repertoire of the harp. "Lamento d' Orfeo" by Fredrick Schwenk, "Intermezzo" by Niklas Anczykowski, or "Der Frühling" by Tony Uhm were composed for her. In 2022 she performed the world premiere of Kobayashi Akira's Harp Concerto No. 5 with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. She continuously tries to find new techniques for the harp and promotes the development of Avantgarde playing styles. She furthermore explores the sound possibilities within contemporary chamber music with her trio Fragmente.
